Build your Knowledge Base
Watch the whole build first, then fly it yourself: crawl a site, upload documents, index a repository, and organize the result — so the agent answers from your sources instead of guessing.
Building a knowledge base from scratch, narrated
What the Knowledge Base holds
The Knowledge Base page in the dashboard is where Agent Dev keeps indexed sources: Voyager SDK documentation, deployment notes, repository code. Once a source is indexed, retrieval tools can quote it in any session — and the same index serves every client you connect through MCP.
Build and organize your library
Open Knowledge Base
Get there from the dashboard navigation rail or the Welcome tiles. The page lists every indexed source with its status, grouping, and search across your library.
Add your first sources
Click New Knowledge Base and pick the shape of the source. Crawl a URL and set the crawl depth to control how far it follows links. Upload documents straight from disk. Or index a git repository so the agent can cite real code.
Watch the crawl land
The Crawling progress tab shows a live card for every crawl in flight, so you can see it working page by page. Dismiss a card once its crawl finishes — the indexed source stays in your list.
Organize with groups
Use Create Group to gather related sources — one group per project or theme works well. Groups keep a growing library scannable and make bulk actions safer later.
Edit items as you go
Open any source to edit its title, change its type, or adjust its sharing and access settings. A tidy title now is a findable source in six months.
Browse what was captured
Open the document browser on a source to read exactly what was captured inside it. If a page you expected is missing, recrawl with more depth — the browser shows you the truth of the index, not the intent.
Clean up in bulk
Enter select mode to check multiple items — with select-all and clear-selection at hand — then Delete selected. The confirmation summarizes exactly what is in scope before anything is removed.
