Your first chat

From a fresh account to a first answer. This page walks the first-run wizard, the home screen, and the first message — about five minutes end to end.

First run: the onboarding wizard

From onboarding to first message

  1. Answer the onboarding wizard

The first time you sign in, Wingman opens a short onboarding wizard. It asks how you plan to use Wingman (your usage mode), your preferred language, whether to share telemetry, and a few interests so suggestions land closer to your work. It also asks what to call you. If your account has no real name yet, for example because you signed up with an address made of random letters and digits, that field starts empty so you can type your own. Nothing here is permanent: every answer can be changed later in Settings.

  2. Pick agent-guided or classic setup

The wizard offers two paths. The agent-guided setup lets an assistant interview you and configure things conversationally. The classic setup is a plain form — faster if you already know what you want. Pick either; both end in the same place.

  3. Land on home

Onboarding drops you on the home page: a greeting, and one hero input ready for your first message. The tags under the input switch what your message starts — an agent conversation, a group chat, or a writing session. Leave the default selected for now.

  4. Send your first message

Below the input are suggestion tiles — ready-made prompts matched to your interests. Click one and it runs immediately as your first conversation. Or type your own goal in one sentence and press Enter. The answer streams in with Voyager SDK knowledge behind it.

  5. Come back tomorrow

Once you have some history, home also shows your recent topics and recent files, so the next session starts one click from where you left off. And if you ever open /chat directly, Wingman redirects you into your most recent agent — or the default inbox assistant on a fresh account. You never land nowhere.
