Find your way around
The Chat shell has one left panel, a handful of quiet entry points, and a lot packed behind them. Five minutes here saves an hour of hunting later.
The left navigation panel
Everything starts at the left navigation panel. Its header carries the Wingman word mark next to the round Wingman icon, dropping to the icon alone once the panel is too narrow for both. Below that, its top section holds the global destinations; the middle is your agent list; the footer holds your avatar and the help menu. Drag its edge to resize it, or collapse it entirely with Cmd+[ (Ctrl+[ on Linux) when you want the conversation full width.
| Area | What lives there | Try it |
|---|---|---|
| Top nav | Search, Home, Get Desktop App, and User manual. Search opens a plain search box; Get Desktop App is where the Linux desktop builds live, with the macOS app and the assistant plugins listed as coming soon. | Click Home to return to the hero input from anywhere. |
| Library entry | The resource manager — every file you have uploaded plus your knowledge bases. | Open it before a project so context is ready when the chat starts. |
| Agent list | Your agents, each expandable to show its recent topics. A history toggle shows or hides those topic rows. | Click an agent to open it; click its chevron to jump into a specific recent topic. |
| Agent list display menu | A page-size menu that controls how many agents the list shows before paging. | Raise it if you work across many agents; lower it to keep the sidebar short. |
| All agents drawer | The full agent directory when the sidebar list is not enough — search, browse, and open any agent. | Open it from the show-all control at the end of the agent list. |
Sidebar footer ? menu | Settings, Feedback, Community, Changelog, and the Evaluation Lab. | This is the front door to everything that is not a conversation. |
| Avatar (user panel) | Profile and sign-out, plus the gateways: Memory, Get Desktop App, data import, and switching sign-in. | Click your avatar — most "where do I…?" questions end here. |
Notifications and inbox
Two notification surfaces sit in the shell. The bell is the notification center: it carries an unread badge and opens a popover with recent notifications. The inbox drawer is for business notifications — announcements and account-level messages — and only appears in deployments that enable business features.
You may also see banners from time to time — for example, a cloud promotion banner in some deployments. Banners are informational and dismissable; they never block the conversation.
