Chat in the desktop app

The desktop app is all of Wingman in one window — and Chat inside it is the same hosted Chat, not a copy. Same account, same topics, same agents, with the desktop wrapped around them.

Chat inside the desktop app

Open Chat on the desktop

  1. Open Chat from Wingman Home

From Wingman Home, pick the Chat mode and press Open Chat. Hosted Chat opens as an integrated tab in the window. The first time, you may see a one-time confirmation page — click Continue to enter as your signed-in user. Everything you started on the web is already there.

  2. Go fullscreen when you want quiet

Press Ctrl+Shift+F for the distraction-free fullscreen chat mode: the desktop chrome steps back and the conversation takes the whole window. Press Escape to exit. Pair it with Zen mode (Ctrl+\) inside Chat for the quietest possible screen.

  3. Move between modes

The Wingman Home button at the top center of the window is always there. Click it to return Home and switch between Chat and Agent Dev — it is the main way to move between modes.

Agent Dev and desktop-only settings

What the desktop adds around the same account: Agent Dev one mode switch away for anything that needs your repository, terminal, or Axelera hardware; the Local AI tools panel on Home; and the desktop-only settings tabs (Proxy and System tools). Plan in Chat, execute in Agent Dev, without changing accounts or windows.
