Files & knowledge bases
Files uploaded once should work everywhere. The Files home manages everything you upload; knowledge bases turn collections of files into searchable context you can attach to any chat.
Organize files and knowledge
Manage your files
Open Library from the left navigation. The resource manager shows everything you have uploaded across conversations: switch between the list view for scanning names and dates and the masonry view for visual browsing. The folder tree on the left keeps large collections organized, the upload dock takes drag-and-drop batches and shows per-file progress, and clicking any file opens a preview without downloading.
Build a knowledge base
A knowledge base is a library of files that Wingman indexes for retrieval: when it is attached to a conversation, the agent searches it and answers from its content. Uploading a file to a chat gives one message context; putting files in a knowledge base gives every future conversation context.
Create a knowledge base
In Files, create a new knowledge base and name it for the project or domain it will serve — one library per subject beats one library for everything.
Fill it
Add files from your existing uploads or bring in new ones. Indexing runs automatically; each file shows its processing status as it becomes searchable.
Inspect the chunking
Open a file inside the library to inspect its chunks — the passages retrieval actually sees. If an important document answers badly in chat, this is where you look first: a table mangled into fragments explains a lot.
Attach it to a chat
In any conversation, attach the knowledge base from the composer's knowledge control. The agent now retrieves from it when questions touch its content. Detach it when the topic moves on.
Maintain it
Rename a library as its scope evolves; delete it when the project is over. Deleting a knowledge base removes the index, not your original files — they stay in Files.
