Sessions, history & resume
Agent Dev keeps every session. Start clean when the goal changes, and pick up any past session — including interrupted ones — with the full transcript restored.
The chat panel toolbar
The toolbar at the top of the chat panel is four buttons, and they carry the whole lifecycle.
| Toolbar button | What it does |
|---|---|
| New Task | Starts a fresh session with a clean context. Use it whenever the goal changes — small, focused sessions beat one endless thread. |
| Settings | Opens the Agent Dev settings, including provider and feedback options. |
| Clear | Wipes the current conversation so the panel starts empty, without opening a new task. |
| History | Lists every past session, ready to load and resume. |
Resume a past session
Loading a past session from History
Open History
Click History in the toolbar. Sessions are listed with entry counts, so a two-message question and a two-hour build are easy to tell apart.
Load the one you need
Load any session — including runs that were interrupted. Loading restores the full transcript, not a summary.
Continue the work
Keep prompting with the full context in place. Long builds survive restarts and mode switches: hop to Chat, close the app, come back tomorrow, and continue where the agent stopped.
